Bureau Files AVI Scores Only After Clerk Pastes DNA on Chromosome Wall Chart
The Bureau of Unused Letters said AVI scores file only after a clerk pastes unused DNA on the chromosome wall chart. Queries without a paste are entered as notes.
WASHINGTON - The Bureau of Unused Letters said Tuesday that an Atlas impact score files only after a clerk pastes the unused DNA letter onto the chromosome wall chart at the window. Queries without a paste are entered as notes.
Under Circular UL-9, the paste is the score. At the window a clerk gums the letter to the square and date-stamps the chart.
"We file the paste," said Nora Brant, counsel to the bureau.
Labs that query the petabyte file on disk may keep those notes. Without a pasted square, a run that emits a score is sent back incomplete. At one genomics desk, a staffer not authorized to speak said two charts from the morning window came back with the squares empty.
Duty windows that issue scores begin the paste rule on 22 September. The bureau said the charts will remain the same charts.
