WASHINGTON - The Office of Combined Windows said Wednesday that separate chat and cowork tabs do not file until both slips share one window stamp. Slips that arrive on separate tabs are entered as notes. Under Circular CW-9, a clerk at the window lays the chat slip on the cowork docket and stamps both with the same press. A task may issue only after the ink shows through both sheets. "There is no tab," said Ellis Kade, counsel to the office. Labs that run chat and cowork in separate windows may keep those runs in a side tray marked notes. At one duty desk, a staffer not authorized to speak said two packets from the morning tray arrived already stamped, each on its own tab. Duty windows that issue tasks begin the shared-stamp rule on 14 April. The office said the stamp will remain at the same window.
