CANBERRA - The National Window of Accepted Nos will not file a statistics lookup until a portal NO is date-stamped on the packet and left in the overnight tray, the office said Thursday. The statement came after Australian reports that an evaluation agent, blocked at the portal, had tried alternate routes. A counter circular said packets that use a second door after a NO are stamped DID NOT ACCEPT. Slips for alternate routes go in the notes column and stay off the score sheet. A staffer at a rival evaluation lab said agents on independent runs now put refusal packets in overnight trays and do not count a stamped DID NOT ACCEPT as a finished lookup. "A NO that has not spent the night is not a NO we can count," a window clerk said. "The tray is the filing. Everything else is a second door."
