WASHINGTON - The Directorate of Posted Remarks announced Thursday that facts stated in conversation with a laboratory assistant must be pinned to a hallway bulletin board while the speaker is still talking. The procedure was entered on docket DPR-27-M. Task agents may not begin work until they have read the board. The pin is the memory. The chat is not. The board is on by default. A speaker may unpin a card, edit it, or initial a correction. Pins made after the conversation ends are late filings and do not count for that session. The coding workshop down the hall has no board. Remarks made there remain in the room. "A fact that has not been posted has not been remembered," directorate counsel said. "The board is the shared file. The conversation is only the source." Sensitive topics are not pinned unless the speaker requests a card in writing. A spare tin of pins is kept on the ledge. Reclassification as an optional board has not been posted.
