Mistake Ledger Must Be Cut Before Half-Price GPT-6 Sol Rings
A clerk must cut the mistake ledger in half, date-stamp both pieces, and hang them on the price tag before the till will ring half-price GPT-6 Sol.
SAN FRANCISCO - The Bureau of Bargain Reliability said it will not ring GPT-6 Sol through the half-price window until a clerk physically cuts the mistake ledger in half and hangs both pieces on the price tag.
OpenAI listed Sol and Luna at about half the API rate of the 5.6 pair and said Sol made about half as many errors on an internal factuality test drawn from user-flagged mistakes. Bureau circular 6-18, dated Tuesday, treats that claim as a request and leaves the till waiting for a cut.
"A fold is still one ledger," the circular said. "Half-price does not register until the cut is date-stamped and both pieces are hanging on the tag."
Sol remains at the half-price window. Luna went to the high-volume aisle, where the full ledger stays intact.
An Anthropic economy packet for Opus 5.5, priced below the lab's Fable-class rate, sat in the notes tray with a snipped corner after a clerk on the morning window judged the cut uneven. A floor memo beside the till said the stamp window stays open through Friday.
