Office of Model Claims Requires Inspectors to Ship as Downloadable Plugin Bundles So Audited Firms Can Reproduce the Decision to Begin Inspection
Office of Model Claims will issue inspectors as downloadable plugin bundles so audited firms can reproduce the decision to begin inspection. Filings cite "inspector loop" as replaceable.
WASHINGTON - The Office of Model Claims said Monday that inspectors assigned to model-claims reviews will be issued as downloadable plugin bundles so that firms can reproduce every finding, including the inspector's decision to begin the inspection.
The office, which maintains the evaluation standard for claim substantiation, posted a sample audit filing with the notice. Among listed dependencies, "inspector loop" appears as a replaceable component that a respondent may pin, swap, or re-execute.
"If the inspected party cannot obtain the same commencement, the finding is not complete," said Helen Voss, a spokesperson for the office. "The bundle contains the inspector, the evaluation machinery, and the recorded determination that an inspection should start. Loading the package is part of ordinary transparency compliance."
The rule takes effect 1 October. Firms will have 14 days after a bundle is posted to confirm that their copy of the inspector loop returns the same decision to inspect.
